Spent a lovely morning in the garden, Jeff and I sat on the patio enjoying a few moments of peaceful warmth before the work week begins. It’s so nice to be able to step outside with a cup of coffee and hear the birds singing. We let Vivi out for a bit too, so that she could get acclimated to being outside. She’s still a little skittish and wearing her tail low to the ground, but she’s slowly sniffing about.
It’s really interesting to the the impact of heat on our plants. The violets, anemones and our strawberry plant drooped so low to the ground yesterday afternoon, but were back up and perky this morning. I think I will have to start watering them every morning if it stays this warm. Must remember to check how dry the soil is when I get home tonight.
The glow from those early hours is what really gets me through the day. Even if I’m plowing through emails instead of dirt, part of my brain is still pondering what to do with sprung tulips.
